Cat Ba Day Cruise Itineraries

Hanoi - Cat Ba - Lan Ha Bay - Hanoi

Rise early for your hotel pick up and transfer to the port for your ferry to Cat Ba Island.

On arrival in Cat Ba, take a tour of Hospital Cave, so-called for its use during the Vietnam War.

Then take a cycle through the imposing mountains and valleys of Cat Ba National Park, before heading to Beo pier for your Cat Ba day cruise.

Enjoy lunch onboard the Arcady Cruise as you set sail through Lan Ha Bay.

In the afternoon, take the option to go kayaking or be rowed on a traditional bamboo boat to explore the bay up close. You can also take a swim in the crystal water.

Visit the small fishing village of Van Boi before cruising back through hundreds of limestone islands to Cat Ba. Enjoy tea and cake along the way.

Your luxury bus transfer will reach Hanoi in the late evening.

Cat Ba - Lan Ha Bay - Cat Ba

The bus will pick you up early at your Cat Ba hotel to take you to the harbour to begin your Cat Ba day cruise to Lan Ha Bay.

You’ll head through one of the biggest floating fishing villages in the area and then on to Monkey Island. Take a dip in the clear blue water and enjoy the beach before we take a hike up to the top of the island. Here you’ll have unbeatable views of Lan Ha Bay and the surrounding islands. You’ll also notice how the island got its name – the resident monkeys!

Cruise further through Lan Ha Bay to the edge Ha Long Bay. We’ve found a quiet and beautiful area where the recent King Kong movie was shot. We’ll have lunch on the boat here and then explore the area further on kayaks. Head into the mysterious light and dark cave in the kayak!

Your next stop is Van Boi Beach. Head into the water again for a little snorkelling and enjoy a chilled beer on the deck. If you are feeling adventurous, take a jump from the 4m high boat into the water!

Return to Cat Ba Town in the late afternoon.

Lily’s suggestion:

If you’ve already spent some time on Cat Ba Island, why not travel back in style through Lan Ha Bay and then onto Hanoi? Make a travel day into an adventure!
